Sedation
Did you know we offer options of Sedation at our office?
We offer a few different medications to help create more relaxed and comfortable dental visits. Some drugs control pain, some help you relax, and others put you in a virtual sleeping state during dental treatment. The type of procedure, your overall health, history of allergies and your anxiety level are considered when determining which approach Dr. Blake thinks is best for your particular case.
Sedation options we provide are: inhalation, and oral sedation. Inhalation sedation is Nitrous oxide, or often referred to as laughing/happy gas. It has been given this nickname because of the euphoric effect it has. The oral sedation we offer is a combination of Nitrous oxide, and medication that is prescribed to help reduce consciousness in order to relieve both pain and anxiety for the needed treatment. Oral sedation differs from IV sedation because it requires no IV placement, or any shot in your arm.
If you’re interested in Sedation ask about it at your next appointment. Keep in mind that the Sedation options will have to be planned prior to your specific appointment, and Dr. Blake must give the okay to proceed.
